I've personally become very interested in Vojtech Kubasta after finding some of his books in my father's collection after he passed away last year. Their information can be found online with many of their more recent newsletters freely available to view. Was all the art by Michael Welply, created in your style but specifically made to work within the confines of the 3D pop-up format? Or were your illustrations used but supplemented by the other Welply? I'm curious what that process was like if another artist was trying to mimic your illustrations and how much control you had over the process.Īre there 3D pop-up designers you are specifically inspired by? If interested, The Movable Book Society is a fantastic resource of interviews with pop-up designers past and present. I hope the year ahead is a very happy and healthy one for you and your family.
